The Montrose Downtown Summer Passport program kicked off last Thursday for downtown patrons and shoppers.

The multi-week event is a collaboration of several businesses to promote traffic to downtown by giving away prizes once a week Participants can pick up a free passport book at any of the participating businesses and collect stamps in their books by making purchases on Thursdays through Aug 31. Each Thursday, passport participants are required to take a photo of their passports with newly acquired stamps and share them on Instagram or Facebook with the hashtag #montrosedowntownpassport.

Then, on Friday, one of the participating local businesses will supply a prize and draw a winner.

At the end of die summer, a grand prize giveaway will take place for pardcipants who post their full passport books.
