Toasty All Day Eatery is the latest venture for Montrose restauranteurs Phil and Melanie Freismuth, and they have planned a Sept. 9 opening date for the new business at the Colorado Outdoors development.
Right next door to Tratorria, at 1341 Mayfly Drive in the Flex Buildings strip, Toasty will specialize in breakfast and brunch, but will also have plenty of lunch bites, as well as some small dishes and specialized cocktails for dinnertime.
Phil Freismuth said the business will be open 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily.
“We’re calling it elevated breakfast,” he said. “Items you can’t get anywhere else, and it’s going to be a little better than the greasy spoon.”
But Freismuth wanted to clarify the restaurant will still have a casual feel — just with more than your classic bacon, eggs and pancakes.
Some breakfast and brunch menu items you might not see anywhere else in Montrose include hangover fried rice, with pork belly and eggs; shrimp and grits; and New Orleans-style beignets.
You will also see the staples: breakfast burritos, pancake plates, chilaquiles, breakfast nachos and more. They plan to serve several variations of eggs Benedict.
And, of course, mimosas, beer and cocktails.
“It’s been really good. We worked with Kuboske Construction, who has done a really good job,” Freismuth said. “The Dragoos have been very easy to work with, too.”
The space inside has a classy, modern feel to it. It includes a long bar toward the back of the restaurant, as well as booths and tables. the restaurant should seat about 70 total, Freismuth said.
It was still being finished this week, as the restaurant is still in the hiring stage.
Many will begin working this week.
Lunch will include offerings like a chile relleno burger, a chiken biscuit and a power bowl (rice, protein, veggies).
They will also serve a four different types of po’boy sandwiches.
In the evening time, it will mostly include small plates, plus cocktails.
Freismuth hopes to model the evening cocktail menu similar to some of the offerings they have at Phelanies Speakeasy.
Freismuth said the location is exciting and up-and-coming.
“There are all the businesses in the strip that are currently being occupied, a hotel across the street,” he said. “I’m excited to go into a nice facet of restaurant tourism — the breakfast side, which we’ve never done. We think it should be a success.”
