Corner Taps is a new bar that the owners are hoping will open this weekend.
The 35 N. Cascade Ave. bar will be run by Valerie and Jeff Perrin, who bring some experience from previously opening and running a bar.
Their plans include 11 added TVs for a sports bar feel. It will also house pool tables and a newly built stage and fixture for hanging lights for evening time events, like live music.
They have also revamped the kitchen in the bar so they can offer snacks and food.
“We’re going to be doing DJs, bands and all that,” Valerie told the Business Times while showing off the improvements made to the building. “It’s going to be a nice little place to watch TV and eat some food.”
They plan to show football games and will have the NFL Sunday Ticket.
Included in the improvements to the bar are a new bar surface, new floors, new barstools and furniture, and plenty more.
“We’re going to have friendly staff,” Valerie said. “I would say it’s going to be fun and energetic, but a good time to come with friends and hang out.”
The building has previously housed Red White and Brews, Twisted Ginger, and Sam’s. All of those previous bars closed due to liquor license issues.
Valerie emphasized to city council, when she was seeking a liquor license, that they look to clean the place up.
“We’re definitely trying to clean it up and stuff like that,” she said to the MBT.
New signage was placed on the outside of the building, and Valerie said she was just waiting on some final steps before opening.
If all the paperwork is approved, they plan to open Friday, she said.
