Colorado Gives Day is our state’s largest giving event, when communities across Colorado come together to support local nonprofits. This year, there are 400 organizations participating in Colorado Gives Day to support our Western slope communities.
Early giving for the event is open at ColoradoGivesDay.org and all donations made now through Dec. 10 get amplified by a $1 million+ incentive fund, thanks to Colorado Gives Foundation and presenting sponsor FirstBank. All donations made are eligible for incentive matches and prizes for nonprofits.
Last year, nearly 4,000 Coloradans donated $1.6 million to Western Slope nonprofits participating in Colorado Gives Day, and this year the region hopes to raise even more.
“We have three incredible regional champions on the Western Slope working to help local nonprofits fundraise to help their communities thrive,” said Jordan Brown, nonprofit success manager for Colorado Gives Foundation, the organization that runs Colorado Gives Day. Mountain West Gives serves Garfield and Pitkin Counties, Grand Valley Gives serves Mesa County and Uncompahgre Gives serves Montrose, Delta and Ouray counties. “Western Slope communities are incredible generous,” said Brown. “Giving for Colorado Gives Day in these communities has increased 24% since 2022. In 2023, 234 local nonprofits benefited from the generosity of western slope communities,” added Brown.
