The Greater Montrose Chamber of Commerce will host its annual Business Expo on Thursday, Feb. 13, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Montrose Pavilion. The event is free and open to the public.
Chamber President Chris VanVleet said this year’s expo will feature more businesses than in previous years, though specific numbers were not available. The event will include business booths, food, raffles and giveaways.
“We aim to support our local businesses and ensure they gain visibility,” VanVleet said. “A lot of businesses will have activities and promotional items. If you come for the free stuff, stay for the businesses.”
The expo provides businesses with opportunities for exposure and networking. VanVleet said the event allows businesses to showcase a broader range of services beyond what the public may typically associate with them.
“There are a lot of small businesses that don’t always have the resources for extensive marketing,” she said. “This event helps them connect with potential customers and other businesses.”
Chamber members receive complimentary booth space at the event. Businesses interested in securing a booth can contact the Chamber to inquire about availability. Booths provide businesses a chance to interact directly with attendees, answer questions, and demonstrate their products or services.
Those who attend will have the opportunity to meet and network with a diverse range of industries, including retail, hospitality, finance and professional services. VanVleet emphasized that while some businesses may be well-known in the community, the expo serves as a reminder of the variety of services available in Montrose.
“Even if someone doesn’t think they need a particular service, they might realize its value after attending the event,” she said.
The Chamber will have an informational presence at the event. VanVleet said she will be available to meet attendees and business owners throughout the evening.
And if people are interested in joining the Chamber of Commerce, the Business Expo provides an opportunity to learn more about membership benefits, upcoming events, and available resources.
In addition to networking and business promotion, the expo will also include interactive demonstrations from select vendors, allowing attendees to see certain products or services in action. VanVleet said this hands-on approach helps businesses engage with potential customers in a more dynamic way.
The Chamber, re-established in 2020, has grown to more than 120 members. It works in collaboration with organizations such as the Development and Revitalization Team (DART) and Region 10 to provide resources and support for local businesses.
