How to celebrate the St. Patrick’s Day weekend in and around Montrose

Those in and around Montrose will have several opportunities to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day this year, with live music, themed parties and other festivities taking place throughout the weekend leading up to the holiday. 

Here’s a look at some of the events happening around the region.

Thursday, March 12

St. Paddy’s Party at Floating Lotus Brewery

Floating Lotus Brewery, 144 Campbell Lane in Ridgway, will host a St. Paddy’s-themed party Thursday, March 12, featuring live music by Psylo. The event promises psychedelic grooves, craft beer and festive celebrations beginning in the evening. The event is 21 and over with a $10 cover charge.

Friday, March 13

St. Patrick’s Party with Donny Morales

The Association will host an early St. Patrick’s Day celebration from 6 to 10 p.m. Friday, March 13, at 39 W. Main St. in Montrose. The event will feature live music from Donny Morales along with drink specials and Guinness. There is no cover charge.

Saturday, March 14

Third anniversary party at Pomona Brewing Company

Pomona Brewing Company, 830 N. Townsend Ave., will celebrate its third anniversary Saturday, March 14, with festivities running from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. The event will feature special beer releases, kitchen specials, raffle giveaways and a chicken wing eating contest. Participants can sign up for the wing contest in person at the brewery.

Live music at Corner Taps

Corner Taps, 35 N. Cascade Ave., will host live music from the Neon Sky Band from 7 to 11 p.m. Saturday, March 14. The evening will feature dancing and drink specials.

St. Patrick’s Day party at Town Hall Tavern

Town Hall Tavern will host a St. Patrick’s Day party Saturday, March 14, featuring live music and a DJ set. The band Farmer in the Sky will perform from 8 to 10 p.m., followed by a DJ set from BT5K and Kaiyo from 10 p.m. until close. The event will also include a beer mug holding contest and St. Patrick’s-themed drink specials.

St. Patrick’s fundraiser concert at the Delta Egyptian Theater

The Delta Egyptian Theater will host a St. Patrick’s Day concert and fundraiser at 7 p.m. Saturday, March 14. The event will feature the band Sinners & Saints performing Irish drinking songs and pub classics. Tickets are $25, and proceeds will support the Delta Egyptian Theater and the Grand Junction Symphony Orchestra.

Sunday, March 15

St. Patrick’s Day celebration at Montrose Elks Lodge

The Montrose Elks Lodge, 801 S. Hillcrest Drive, will host its annual St. Patrick’s Day celebration from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday, March 15, featuring live music from the Cimarron Band. Admission is $10, and a traditional corned beef and cabbage meal will be available for $15. Reservations for food are encouraged by calling 970-249-4852.

Tuesday, March 17 — St. Patrick’s Day

St. Patrick’s Day celebration at Town Hall Tavern

Town Hall Tavern will celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with drink specials and a beer chugging contest beginning at 7 p.m. The tavern will also serve complimentary corned beef and cabbage and hunter’s stew for patrons while supplies last.

Sabrina-themed St. Paddy’s Day bash at Ay Chabela Snacks & Antojitos

Ay Chabela Snacks & Antojitos, 1015 E. Main St., will host a St. Paddy’s Day bash from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 17. The event will include themed desserts and drinks such as green milkshakes, chocolate strawberry cups and elote en palo, along with karaoke, hair tinsel and permanent jewelry.

Celtic concert at Pioneer Town in Cedaredge

Pioneer Town in Cedaredge will host a St. Patrick’s Day concert in the historic Stolte Shed featuring Robin Freed and the Montrose Harp Ensemble. The performance will include traditional Celtic music played on harps, hammer dulcimers and other acoustic instruments. Admission is free, with a suggested $10 donation benefiting the Surface Creek Valley Historical Society.
