Wild Horse Wine & Whiskey in downtown Montrose is under contract, with the sale scheduled to close March 26, owner Scott Mijares announced this week.
“It is with bittersweet emotions that we share some important news: an offer to purchase the Wild Horse has been made and accepted,” Mijares wrote in a Facebook post.
Mijares and his wife, Juli, opened the upscale saloon-style bar in 2023 after renovating one of the building at 439 E. Main St.
“Juli and I are incredibly grateful for the many wonderful memories, friendships, and moments we’ve shared with all of you over the years,” he wrote. “Your support has meant more to us than we can ever fully express.”
The couple said they hope to thank customers in person before the transaction is finalized, noting they will be open Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 4 to 9 p.m.
Mijares was elected to the Montrose County Board of Commissioners and was later recalled in November. No information about the buyer has been announced.
