Partners Mentoring Youth is launching its annual online auction next week, one of the organization’s largest fundraisers supporting youth mentoring programs in Delta, Montrose and Ouray counties.
The 2026 auction begins Monday, April 27, with items closing daily through Thursday, April 30. Organizers say the event features donations from hundreds of local and regional businesses, offering participants a wide range of items to bid on while supporting the nonprofit’s mission.
Participants must register online to bid, with organizers noting the system is designed to be secure and user-friendly. Items will close in staggered intervals, and bids placed near closing time will extend the auction window slightly to allow for final offers.
Proceeds from the auction support Partners’ mentoring programs, which match youth ages 6 to 17 with adult volunteers for one-on-one mentorship.
Founded in 1986, the organization focuses on building relationships that help young people develop confidence and life skills. According to the nonprofit, youth involved in mentoring programs often see improved self-esteem and academic performance, and are less likely to engage in delinquent behavior or substance use.
Mentors typically commit a few hours each week for about a year, participating in activities such as cooking, outdoor recreation or simply spending time together. Matches are based on shared interests, personality and location, with ongoing support provided by program staff.
Winners of auction items will be notified by email, with pickup scheduled at the Montrose office or arranged in Delta. Some items may also be shipped upon request.
