Montrose Pride will return to Cerise Park next month for its third annual celebration, bringing live music, drag performances, vendors and community events to Montrose, according to a release from the organization.

The free, all-ages event is scheduled for Saturday, June 6, from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Montrose Rotary Amphitheater at Cerise Park, according to organizers.

This year’s celebration will feature live entertainment, food trucks and a vendor village. Denver-based band Hand Turkey is set to headline the event with a mix of funk, pop, jazz and jam music. Singer Coral Skye will open the festivities, followed by performances from drag kings and queens including Gold’n Boi Romanova, Valerian Ztrange VanDyke, Hysteria Brooks, Suavecito, DaVaiVai and Amberlea.

The event will also include a youth showcase featuring performers ages 9 to 18. Stella Rae Van Dyke will serve as the event emcee.

An official afterparty is planned later that evening at The Association from 8 p.m. to midnight, with doors opening at 7 p.m. The 21-and-over event will include music from DJ V4MPIREBAIT, dancing and additional drag performances.

“Visibility in a small town isn’t given – it’s celebrated, fiercely and joyfully, every single year,” Montrose Pride founder and president Evelyn Greenman-Baird said in a statement. “Pride is a celebration of our uniqueness, the full spectrum of our identities, and the power of being seen.”

Montrose Pride is also organizing several Pride Month events throughout June.

Billy Goat Hop Farm will host a Pride Pint Night on Friday, June 5, where $1 from every draft beer sold will benefit Montrose Pride. The event will feature live music from Bell Creek Band and food from La Gran Señora food truck.

Meanwhile, the Montrose Center for the Arts is hosting a Pride-inspired exhibit titled “What is Your Joy?” through June 26. An opening reception is scheduled for May 29 from 5 to 7 p.m. and will include beer, wine and light bites.

Montrose Pride is a nonprofit organization focused on promoting inclusivity and equity in the Montrose region through events and educational initiatives.
